66 Year-old Taking Control Over Her Disease Through Karate

March 27, 2013 By Brett Kraiger

It’s human nature to seek control over the situation you are in. But life is unpredictable. When unexpected changes happen to our lives, we fear because we know our ability to control is threatened. This is why having a chronic disease such as Rheumatoid Arthritis is frightening.

But Flo Covell, a 66 year old woman who has been suffering Rheumatoid Arthritis for 22 years, has done every possible way to have control over her situation. Training in Karate has definitely helped her deal with this health condition. You can see her training as if she isn’t inflicted by such disease in the video. She said she has managed to take control over it by eating well, exercising, meditation and martial arts. On top of that, she already has a black belt for Karate.
