Book Review: You Are Your Own Gym

Book Review: You Are Your Own Gym

October 17, 2011 By Brett Kraiger

A great (but I’d have to say, a little bit scary) book that I really like is “You Are Your Own Gym“.

The reason I say it is a little scary is that it is basically a collection of exercises that the Special Operations Forces use to maintain their superb physical shape.

But the amazing thing is that these are all bodyweight exercises. No equipment in sight, apart from the occasional door or bench.

Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s written by a Special Ops guy, because there are variations for everyone. Many of the exercises come with instructions on how to make the exercises easier or harder.

For proof of that see this review from Amazon…

Just started using this exercise book and being a 50 year old woman found the exercises not only easy to se but am noticing faster results than my old regimen at the gym where I was using the equipment. I have more time being able to do them at home which is a big plus in my busy schedule.

I use this book all the time. Mainly to come up with new ways of torturing training my own students. But it’s also a great way to sneak in some extra training at home. The exercises are mostly short and can be done during a television commercial!

Here’s the link to the book again.
